Have you ever experienced having a bad day because you had an unpleasant morning? Naturally, most people who wake up not in the mood tend to have a rough day ahead of them. Conversely, waking up in a great mood creates a pleasant vibe all day long. This is why you would normally hear someone pleading not to make a mess or scene during the morning hours – because, it can ruin the day.
Along with the tone of your morning hours, your morning routines and habits are also important factors in this matter. They dramatically affect as well the mood of your day. So, if you really want to have a great day ahead of you, try to assess your morning routines.
Whether it’s the daily drinking of your weight loss pills or the morning exercise routines, check every habit that you do once you wake up. If you think that there’s nothing wrong with them and yet you still get those unpleasant days, try to incorporate these 6 morning habits on your routines that can certainly transform your day:
1. Drink a glass of water before you do anything
A hydrating first thing in the morning can do a lot of wonders to your health and physique holistically. Sleeping in a full 6 to 8 hours can pretty much dehydrate your system. So, it’s quite essential to drink a glass of water once you wake up.
Now, dehydration can cause several issues to your body and mind which can lead to unpleasant moods. For instance, your brain cannot function fully if it does not receive the right amount of water. Also, your alertness and mindfulness are not quite effective which all factors that can affect your mood are. So, instead of grabbing your warm cup of coffee or tea as you wake up, drink a glass of water first before having other kinds of drinks.
2. Visualizing – Feeling yourself
Visualizing or feeling yourself in the morning is a great practice that can fully transform your day. Picturing yourself in a great mood can create the pleasant vibe in your surroundings. You can do this in many forms or ways.
Once you wake up, before you take a shower or eat your breakfast, try to close your eyes and imagine the things you want to accomplish or the goals you would want to achieve. This will set the mood of your day. Also, you could try to make a thorough To-Do list. List all the tasks that you want and need to do for the day. Additionally, you may create a vision board as well. Place all the things that you want to see here in the morning. The things that you know will help you make feel great.
3. Mindfulness meditation
Along with your visualization practices, complement it with a short mindful meditation just right before you start your day. It could be as short as 5 minutes.
Apparently, meditation can prepare your mind and body to the stress that could possibly go along your way. It calms and relaxes your mind and body so that you can respond to any stress and anxiety appropriately. In fact, people who practice meditation daily appear to be much more happy and pleasant.
4. Go outside
Another morning habit that can help you transform your day is to actually go outside and be in contact with your surroundings. You can do this once you wake up or after you hydrate your system. Whether you would just do a few breathing exercises or even jog, being connected outside also helps your mind and body to relax.
Research suggests that becoming mindful and connected to the outside world has a significant and positive impact on one’s mood.
5. Have a great breakfast
Have you ever notice how tired, exhausted, and stressed you are when you miss the most important meal of the day?
There is a reason why breakfast is stated as the most important meal of the day. Apparently, you can always miss the dinner but never the first meal of the day. This is because it significantly affects your mind, body, mood, and overall health.
But, having a meal in the morning period does not only denotes that you should eat something. You should also be very mindful of the types of food that you eat. Opt to have a healthy meal that includes carbohydrates, protein, fiber, and vitamins. Filling your stomach appropriately can largely affect your mood.
6. Listen to something inspiring
When you wake up in the morning, you should not only visualize yourself. But, you should be able to encourage and inspire yourself as well. When you start your day feeling energized, inspired, and determined, it will be all easy for things to fall into its place.
The best way to do this is to listen to something inspiring. Whether it’s a podcast or a video talk, you should practice to include this habit every morning. This will help you start the day right. As a result, it will be difficult for anything or anyone to stress you out.
These morning habits may seem too easy to do but when you apply yourself, it can be quite challenging. Nevertheless, if you really want to stay positive, pleasant, and lifted all throughout your day, these practices will certainly help you.
