Conservation Corps North Bay (CCNB) | Essential Oxygen Planet Positive Initiatives | March 2023
MARCH 2023 | We are excited to feature the important work of Conservation Corps North Bay (CCNB), the oldest, local, nonprofit, youth conservation corps in the country! Since 1982, CCNB has served thousands of young people in Marin and Sonoma Counties in support of their mission: To develop youth and conserve natural resources for a resilient, sustainable, and equitable community. The values of empowerment, community, and sustainability drive CCNB. The central pillar of their organization is their Youth Corps. In 2021 alone, the Youth Corps diverted 506,756 pounds of E-waste from the landfill, restored 556 acres of natural habitat, reduced fire fuel on 428 acres of public and private land, restored and maintained 148 miles of trails, and diverted 10,641 tires from the landfill.
