June is National Oral Health Month, and we’re celebrating with the story that started it all.
Before Essential Oxygen existed, our founder and CEO, Kate Linforth, was searching for answers. Despite doing everything she was supposed to do for her teeth, her oral health continued to decline. She struggled with deep gum pockets, sensitivity, and persistent tartar buildup, while watching a family history of tooth loss unfold before her eyes.
At the same time, Kate had built a thriving raw foods company serving a community passionate about wellness. That experience led her to ask a simple question:
What would nature do?
Through research and scientific inquiry, she discovered something powerful: oxygen is one of nature’s most effective ways to clean. In rainwater, rivers, plants, and even our own bodies, oxygenation helps support healthy ecosystems. Paired with pure essential oils, it inspired a completely different approach to oral care.
That discovery led to the creation of BR | Organic Mouthwash + Brushing Rinse- an oxygen-powered formula that transformed Kate’s own oral health and would go on to become the nation’s #1 selling natural mouthwash.
